LONELY OAKS wins two awards at the 32nd FILMKUNSTFEST MV. The film receives the award for the best documentary film of the competition and Carina Neubohn and Steffen Meyn are honoured with the award for the best cinematography of the documentary film competition.

This year’s Roman Brodmann Prize goes to SEVEN WINTERS IN TEHRAN. The prize, which is awarded annually by the Haus des Dokumentarfilms, recognises an outstanding work of investigative and socially relevant documentary film.

SEVEN WINTERS IN TEHRAN makes waves at international festivals. The film wins the Activist Documentary Award at the Dutch Movies that Matter Festival and is honoured as Special Mention of the Jury at the Swiss International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH).

SEVEN WINTERS IN TEHRAN celebrates its international premiere at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen. There, the film is awarded the F:act Award for journalistic films. The jury’s statement reads:

“This film is artfully crafted – from the visual language to editing style, we are impressed by the filmmaker’s creative vision and ability to execute. It’s emotional but never sensational. It tells a tragic story but yet allows us to witness the warmth and resilience of human nature. It not only shows the courage of individuals standing up against systemic abuse and violence but also reminds us that even deaths can’t defeat one’s will to fight. The award goes to ‘Seven Winters in Tehran’.”

The French premiere of SEVEN WINTERS IN TEHRAN at the Festival Pluriel.les is a great success. The film picks up three prizes: Prix du public, Prix du meilleur documentaire and Prix de l’équipe Majestic.

After an overwhelming premiere, the Berlinale also comes to a successful close for SEVEN WINTERS IN TEHRAN. The film is awarded both the Compass-Perspektive-Award for the best film in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section and the Peace Film Prize.

Berlinale, the second: Joining SEVEN WINTERS IN TEHRAN, our new film LONELY OAKS by the directorial trio Fabiana Fragale, Kilian Kuhlendahl and Jens Mühlhoff will also be screened at the Berlinale this year. The documentary will also celebrate its world premiere in the section Perspektive Deutsches Kino.

MADE IN GERMANY goes Berlinale: Our documentary film SEVEN WINTERS IN TEHRAN celebrates its world premiere at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival. Director Steffi Niederzoll’s debut film opens this year’s Perspektive Deutsches Kino section.
